Kari & Jimmy's Outdoorsy Engagement Session | The Fisherman & His Catch
It was a chilly fall day with rain in the forecast and we almost rescheduled because of it. We are so glad we waited it out because it added such a moody vibe. We love how the overcast sky made everything look so lush and the colors pop. We know Kari must have been freezing in her beautiful red dress, but you couldn’t tell and she didn’t complain. Kari and Jimmy kept each other warm with tons of smooches and cuddles. They are both so laid back and were cool to go with flow.
The first half of our shoot took place at County Line Orchard, which we pretty much had to ourselves. The rain was misting through the apple trees but Kari and Jimmy were able to stay mostly dry and cozy under a blanket they brought along.
Give us a short description of how, when and where you first met.:
We were in the same biology class freshman year of high school, but I did get switched out of that class the first week. We had mutual friend groups and met more formally mid freshman year at a friend’s house.

Confident, Handsome, and Dimples!

Pretty, Smart, Funny.
Where was your first date?:
We went to a friends party together.
Where did you have your first kiss?:
In the car one night when he was taking me home.
How did he/she propose?:
We were on a road trip and one of the places we stayed was in North Topsail Beach, North Carolina. We had rented a condo right on the beach. When I was growing up we always did annual trips to Florida and one of my favorite memories was waking up early to look for shells on the beach. I suggested we wake up early one of the days to walk on the beach . That morning we were walking and looking for shells and Jimmy said “look at this one” and when I turned around he was on one knee in the sand with my ring.
Kari and Jimmy told us that they love spending time outdoors together, especially fly fishing, and she wanted to wear their fishing waders for part of the shoot. How cute is that?! It made their session unique and showed their relationship dynamic. Deep River Park was the perfect spot for this since it was near the Orchard and so pretty. Kari’s sister met us there and brought their sweet doggy Mia along to sneak in a for a few photos.
If your relationship were a movie, what would the title be?:
Not All Who Wander Are Lost.
What two celebrities would play you?:
Maybe Matthew McConaughey and Kristen Wig
What would your band/duo name be?:
The Fisherman and His Catch
When do you feel most loved by your fiance?:
When we are cuddling.
When do you feel most loved by your fiance?:
When we are snuggled up in bed watching TV at the end of our day.
What do you call your boo?:
We call each other Babe most often but I call him Jimbo too!
We were inspired by Kari & Jimmy’s laid back style and love for the outdoors. By the way, Kari’s beautiful boho braid was done by one of our fave hairstylists, Maddie Raspe and it lasted through all the wind, rain and rolling in the leaves! (And Jimmy, we love your hair - we hope you don’t cut it for the wedding!) Kari’s natural Make-up was done by Katie from Sta-Glam. Her nails were done beautifully by Jessica Warzyniak of Ooh Nice Nails.
You were both so sweet and we genuinely enjoyed our time with you. Thank you for toughing it out on a chilly day and trusting that it would all be worth it. We can’t wait until your wedding!
