Carmen & Jamie - celebrating 7 years of Bliss

Serendipity is my favorite word.  You don't get to use it often.  To those of you who know us, you've probably heard me describe my friendship with Carmen as a serendipitous meeting. The reason I say that is because when we met, I was contemplating becoming a professional photographer but hadn't committed yet.   Had I not taken that photography class and met Edda Taylor and if Edda wasn't the amazing person she is, and if Edda hadn't introduced me to Carmen...well my life would have been very different.   

Fast forward 7 1/2 years later and I look back with such gratitude.  We've become family.  As you can see from our slideshow that Carmen put together, we've had a lot of fun playing dress up with our kids and each other.  We are living out our creative dreams and all the while documenting life for one another.  All I can feel is lucky.

This post is good timing with it having been Friendship Day yesterday and Carmen's birthday next week.  I just want to say, I'm grateful to Edda and Carmen for changing my life.  Let's hear it for all the women that encourage other women and don't see them as competition but rather support them.
